The Florida Apostolic Bible Center (FABC) is a premier training institution committed to developing current and prospective pastors and ministers who are ready to advance the Kingdom of God. As the successor of the New Life Tabernacle’s Ministers in Training program, founded by Pastor Daniel M. Davy, FABC continues a legacy of excellence in equipping individuals for ministerial licensing, particularly within the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). This intensive program covers a broad range of biblical, doctrinal, and practical topics, preparing students for effective ministry in diverse contexts. Over 60 ministers have received their UPCI licenses, which many of them are now pastoring churches across Florida.

Rooted in a God-given mandate to reach the lost, FABC was birthed to expand the reach of apostolic ministry across all communities, including the Spanish and Haitian populations. The center serves as a hub for spiritual formation and theological training, designed for those who feel the call of God and are ready to answer it with clarity, conviction, and preparation. Endorsed by the UPCI, FABC offers a rigorous and spiritually enriching curriculum in the heart of Tampa.

We want to Prepare individuals for the work of the ministry. Anyone with a passion to serve will benefit from instruction shared by seasoned ministers of the gospel. Individuals that complete the program are better equipped to serve in important positions of leadership and ministry in the local church.

Preparing people for the harvest.

Over two decades ago, Bishop Daniel M. Davy recognized a pressing need to train and equip future leaders, ministers, and pastors for the work of the ministry. Fueled by a deep passion for teaching and discipleship, he established the Ministers in Training (MIT) program through New Life Tabernacle. For years, students gathered monthly for intensive four-hour sessions, receiving foundational instruction in biblical doctrine and spiritual formation. As the program evolved, it expanded to include subjects such as Hermeneutics, Homiletics, the Gospels, Old and New Testament Surveys, Sermon Preparation and Delivery, and Outreach. Bishop Davy’s firm belief that “one can never stop learning” shaped the culture of the program, with many students studying under his leadership for many years. Eventually, the vision grew beyond MIT into what would become a fully operational Bible institute.

With forward-thinking vision, Bishop Davy appointed Minister Dionne Kerr, a graduate of the MIT program and a pastor, to serve as the first official Dean of the Tampa Apostolic Bible Institute (TABI). Under her leadership, the program expanded into a structured three-year curriculum. The first year fulfilled the licensing requirements of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI), while the remaining years allowed students to deepen their studies. After her untimely passing, Pastor David Cantillo became Dean and introduced two distinct ministry tracks: one for those called to preach or pastor and another for those seeking to serve in non-pulpit ministry roles. Later, Pastor Sorle Diih became Dean and during his tenure, the institute was renamed the Florida Apostolic Bible Center (FABC) and received official endorsement from the UPCI. Today, Elder Ira Easington serves as Dean and led the charge in securing UPCI approval to offer an Associate degree program while diligently working to bring that vision to full fruition, continuing the legacy of equipping and empowering leaders for the Kingdom of God.
